Apricot
Apricot is a custom-built case management system created at Cook Inlet Tribal Council to bring all social service data into one place. The assignment was to design a friendly, easy-to-recognize mark for use in internal trainings, documentation, and development—and potentially in future versions shared with other agencies. The goal was to make something that felt professional but still approachable, aligning with CITC’s visual identity while standing on its own.
The design process started by exploring ways the existing CITC logo could evolve into something more specific to the software. Flipping one of its shapes revealed a form that already resembled an apricot, so the new logo grew naturally from what was already there. A leaf and a blended orange tone—made from equal parts of CITC’s brand red and yellow—added warmth and balance. The result is a simple, cohesive mark that feels both familiar and new, grounded in the parent brand but distinct enough to represent the system’s fresh, practical purpose.
